Club Outing – Rye – 19th June 2024

Hi All,

June’s outing will take place on the 19th and we will be going to Rye. Rye is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in England. In the centre, cobbled lanes like Mermaid Street are lined with medieval, half-timbered houses, and it is one of the most photographed streets. There are many other winding paths and streets as well as historic buildings, which make it seem like the town has stopped in time in its medieval past. The 14th-century Ypres Tower which formed part of Rye’s defences is now the Rye Castle Museum.

I propose that we meet at the Highlands Inn at 9:30 am or en route for ‘coffee and cake’ at Tibbs Farm TN31 6AR on Udimore Road at 10:30 am.

If you intend to join me can you please respond and let me know where you will meet, the Highlands Inn or Tibbs Farm? If you choose the Highlands, any cars not used for the journey can be left on Mallard Drive.
