16th December 2021 @ 07:30 - 21:30
Programme of events.
The first hour.
Meet and greet. Then early tea and coffee and chat, if you want to bring along different refreshments then please do. Remember to bring a glass or two.
The second hour.
Tips & Tricks. I’m sure many would like to learn the tips and tricks some of us use to capture interesting photographs.
I would like any number of members to volunteer and address the membership informally.
We can all benefit from sharing what we know with others.
Whilst in Greenwich, I noticed Regina holding her camera, strap stretched out rigid out in front of her, she told me she does this to help steady her shot, does it work?
White balance other than auto, who uses grey cards? Is there a need for them and why? Explain and share what you know.
Is there a need for primes when we have telephoto lenses?
Who uses a monopod? Do they work?
Who takes pictures directly into the sun successfully? How do you do it?
Who thinks taking a picture using ISO1000 is better than taking one at ISO100? Tell us why.
Who uses ND filters and why?
Who keeps a polarizing filter permanently on the lens and why?
How do you take successful sharp panning pictures? An example could be a moving cyclist, car or skateboarder, with an out of focus background.
There is a ton of stuff we don’t know, let’s try and share what we know with others and come away feeling the evening has been a good one.
